Our location in this thriving city is one of our greatest assets—Durham boasts one of the largest concentrations of PhDs and MDs in the world, and it is home to hundreds of innovative global companies who benefit from a rich reciprocal relationship with Duke and our other renowned local research universities.

It has supported Duke’s growth as a global university and world-renowned health system—and helped us to launch dozens of start-ups with our partners in the region.
